1. Pressing your phone while using the toilet. This if done a regular basis subjects you to pile.


2. Eating and drinking water at the same time. You should finish your food before taking fluids.


3. Avoid eating fruits with your meal. Eat fruits an hour before or after your meal.


4. When you develop headache suddenly, the last thing you should be taking is a pain killer. Perhaps you have been stressed out and need some rest and sleep to be whole again.


5. If you really care for eyes, reduce your screentime. Avoid getting stuck to your phone or laptop all day. Too much of screentime weakens the eye sight.


6. If you have heart related issues, avoid buying fried street food. Avoid reusing your oil over and over. More importantly is to use healthy oils like coconut oil, Palm oil and olive oil.

As an individual who is interested in starting a healthy lifestyle or who is already on the lifestyle journey, it is crucial that you make informed choices and decision when it comes to  treatment of diseases and overall body wellness. 


As it is unanimously agreed upon that natural remedies have been our first to go to when it comes to treating ailment before the advent of conventional drugs and more importantly is that majority of these conventional drugs are made from the said natural medicine but with the addition of chemicals with other synthetic ingredients which explains why numerous side effects are can be found with them i.e. Conventional drugs.



Here are some salient points to note:


1. Conventional drugs have side effects which can be very serious or mild due to other synthetic ingredients they contain and of course they toxic to the body. Some drugs have dangerous effects that sometimes that manufacturers have to recall them from the market example is metformin for the  diabetics, sadly, some people still use it. 2. Due to constant and prolonged usage of drugs like antibiotics, they end up becoming less effective due to microbial resistance which poses a great risk to your health.

Natural remedies on other other hand do not require prolonged usage because it's the body that needs to heal on its own(this is known as self healing in natural medicine), you only need to use them for sometimes to support the functionality of the body and leave the body to do rest. 

For anyone on healthy lifestyle, you would have noticed that you hardly fall sick and if you do, it doesn't take long before you are back on your feet and you are not placed on any drugs for life.



3. Most important thing about conventional drugs is that they don't address the real issues(the root cause of your health challenge), they only address the symptoms giving you a quick relief and you end up going in circles i.e. headache can be due to insomnia or stress, instead of treating this,  a pain relief is opted for and the headache comes back tomorrow and the cycle goes on.

 To be healthy, you body's pH level should be alkaline i.e below above 7. In this state, the healing properties of the body with ALLAAH's permission function properly. This means that regardless of how severe the illness is, the body's will fight and eliminate it by the permission of ALLAAH.

The most important  way that this pH level can be maintained is though healthy eating.

However, if the body's pH is exactly 7(neutral) or less than this(acidic), the body becomes haven for different ailments. Unhealthy eating like white flours, white sugar and every other junks that you know are causative agents.

When there body's pH level is acidic, we call this acidosis and this is how serious illness like cancer thrive.
Ordinarily, with appropriate treatment and natural therapies, coupled with correction cancer can be cured on its own but might take a while depending on its and  how discipline the individual with healthy lifestyle.

Aggressive treatments and therapies for serious health conditions, cancer inclusive mostly increase individual mortality rate and most die 5 years after chemotherapy, radiation or surgery. Only 2% survives according to some studies. We should not forget as a Muslim that all these is I'm accordance with decree of ALLAAH. As sometimes, someone who didn't do any of the aggressive treatments might die too but there is high possibilities according to studies that he/she will live 4 times longer than those who undergo the treatments.

To avoid this if ALLAAH wills, pay attention to your health, don't be non-challant about it. Managing ailments is not easy and can be very expensive(even using natural remedies and therapies). The best you can do is regular check-up and try your possible best to prevent it and seek ALLAAH'S support through du'ā then rely on him.

WHY HEALTHY EATING?

In a time when healthy living is the new reform encompassing different constituents and diet tops the list. However ,it is shocking that people still feed off junk. I know it sounds surprising, and you may think by now we should all be jumping on the 'healthy living' train, given its many benefits and zero harm. However, we still have people who eat what is supposed to be food every day, but they're eating part of their lifespan. I know "eating part of their lifespan" may seem like a strong statement but let me bring out statistics to help us digest my comment above.

According to a report published by PLOS Medicine on February 08, 2022, eating a nutrient-dense diet could extend your life by an estimated eight to 13 years, depending on your age. This study done by PLOS shows the tremendous advantage of a healthy diet. Now let us compare the opposite (i.e., an Unhealthy diet). According to a report published by The Lancet, it is estimated that about 11 million deaths yearly are due to a poor diet. A CBS News post states, "Unhealthy diets now kill more people than tobacco and high blood pressure." Yet with such terrifying stats, some people refuse to give up their sodas, their McDonald, their refined sugar, and the list goes on and on of unhealthy meals.

Do you now doubt my comment "eating part of their lifespan"? Yes, this is a reality that we live in today, and even with this disturbing reality, junk food still accumulates more revenue now than ever before. A report by nbc26.com  reads, "Globally, fast food generates more than $570 billion in revenues." How can we spend so much money on that which causes more harm to our bodies than good?

I hope your six thinking hats are on NOW. Yes, we need those hats on so we can make defining decisions related to what we eat.

Now that your hats are on, let's continue to bring you more reasons why we should all strive to get that healthy eating going.

You may not know or have forgotten about the ill effects of an unhealthy diet. Let me help you list a few of the many catastrophes that junk food/unhealthy diets can cause. But first, let me define Junk food for us.

According  healthdirect.gov, junk food "'Junk foods' are foods that lack nutrients, vitamins and minerals, and are high  in kilojoules (energy), salts,  sugars, and fats. Junk food is so called because it doesn't play a role in healthy eating, especially if it's eaten to excess. Junk food is also known as discretionary food or optional food."

Now that you know the definition of 'Junk Food,' let me list just a few evil effects of this disaster called "Junk Food.' In an article posted by Dr. Axe, he mentioned that Junk Food,
•  Raises blood pressure and cholesterol
•  Contributes to obesity
•  It can cause metabolic syndrome and diabetes
•  Contributes to chronic inflammation, gut-related issues, and autoimmune diseases
•  Negatively impacts neurological health, contributing to cognitive decline
•  Harms the kidneys and liver
•  Can contribute to depression

Our Shaykh Abu Khadeejah, in his lectures concerning health, has constantly advised that we stay away from refined foods and eat healthy and organic as much as possible. We are required in our Deen to take care of our health.

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim said: "The foundations of the medicine of the body are three:
•  Preservation of health.
•  A diet that avoids those things which may cause harm.
•  Removing harmful matter from the body."
